Introduction to Sports Podiatry
Sports Podiatry is the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of foot, ankle and lower limb disorders for all levels of sports. A sports Podiatrist can evaluate, through gait analyses and specific testing any biomechanical discrepancies that has led to your injury or recurrent injuries or possibly improve function.
Once a thorough assessment has been completed the Podiatrists at The Foot Practice may advise specific stretching or strengthening programmes. If there is a structural misalignment then footwear selection or a prescription orthotic can be used to re-align your biomechanics.
The Foot Practice works closely with Physiotherapists, Osteopaths and other allied health practitioners because, lower back and pelvis weakness, tightness or instability may translate to lower limb pathologies.
Whether you are a weekend golfer, enjoy walking the dog around the park or you are a competitive marathon runner, The Foot Practice can help your lower limb.
